Background

Founded in 1972 in La Crosse, WI, Reinhart is a family-owned enterprise and one of the largest foodservice distributors in the USA. Reinhart is part of Reyes Holdings group, one of the largest privately held companies in the United States, serves independent restaurants, delis, sporting venues, schools, nursing homes, hospitals and regional and national chain restaurants. The main goal was to help them to understand client buying insights in order to answer some key questions.

Challenge

  • Understand buying patterns that customers have for any bought product.
  • Prediction of what products a customer could buy for a target day.
  • Prediction of what quantities they could buy for a target day.

Solution:

The solution was delivered by using a SAAS model (Software as a Service). Azure services as data storage, integration services, machine learning and Power BI were selected. Overactive Provides Prediction experiments on demand. The results can be accessed by LOB apps from the solution data repository. A user interface for data visualization presents historical data and predictions on PowerBI dashboards.
